Duterte blames Poe for Edsa traffic woes; “No problem” if she wins in polls, though, he says

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday, blamed Senator Grace Poe for the continuing congestion problems on Edsa.

In a speech in a campaign rally  in Davao, Duterte said Poe had refused to grant the money to fund projects that would bring about solutions.

This is the first time Duterte publicly named Poe, even as the chief executive already hinted at a senator who he said was to blame for Edsa’s traffic woes in previous speeches without publicly naming her.

“She said, ‘That amount of money is just too big. We might lose all that money to corruption.’ So when I heard it — we don’t know each other that well — I told the Congress, ‘Never mind. I will not ask for money anymore, forget it,'” Duterte said.

According to the chief executive, Poe’s statement was “full of malice,” and prompted him to look for other sources of funds.

“It’s as if she thinks she’s the only moral person in this world.  That’s the problem with them,” Duterte said.

“But if Grace wins — ah si Grace. I don’t have a problem but that’s the one thing that I can say about her for now. I have more to say, but I’ll save that for some other time” Duterte added.
