DOJ to act on Australian nun Fox’s appeal of deportation order next year

(Eagle News) — The Department of Justice will act on Australian nun Patricia Fox’s appeal of the deportation order issued by the Bureau of Immigration against her next year.

In a statement, DOJ spokesperson Markk Perete said this was because the DOJ  only recently received Fox’s memorandum “recently.”

“Because of this, and considering that in the meantime, other equally important but more urgent petitions for review have been filed with the Office the Secretary of Justice, the resolution of Sister Fox’s appeal (of) the deportation order issued against her will have to await next year,” Perete said.

In July, the BI revoked Fox’s missionary visa, saying she violated the terms of such when she participated in “partisan political activities.”

Fox has argued, however, that the rallies in which she was seen participating in in pictures were part of her work as a missionary.
