Justice Undersecretary Markk Perete said the hearing was scheduled on Aug. 9 at 10 a.m.

Apart from Robredo, facing the charges also for libel, cyber libel, harboring a criminal and estafa over the Ang Totoong Narcolist videos against President Rodrigo Duterte’s family are Senator Leila de Lima, Antonio Trillanes IV, some priests including Robert Reyes, lawyers Romy Macalintal and Chel Diokno, among others.

The basis for the charges was the affidavit of Peter Joemel Advincula, who claims to be the yellow-hooded character who hurled the accusations against Duterte’s family in the videos.

Earlier, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra vowed “utmost fairness” in the resolution of the complaint. With a report from Moira Encina
