The Department of Justice formally asked the Makati City Regional Trial Court to issue an alias warrant of arrest against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
The DOJ made the request via a very urgent ex-Parte omnibus motion filed before Branch 148.
According to the motion, the coup d’état case filed against Trillanes in connection with the Oakwood mutiny and Manila Peninsula incident was still pending in the first place.
This was because the promulgation of judgment for the case was suspended by the court on December 16, 2010.
In asking the court to order the Bureau of Immigration to issue a hold departure order against Trillanes as well, it said Trillanes had the resources to leave the country as a senator.
The motion was signed by Prosecutor General officer in charge Richard Anthony Fadullon and Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Mary Jane Sytat.
