DOH reports 8,147 more COVID-19 cases

(Eagle News)–COVID-19 cases in the Philippines climbed to 1,588,965 on Saturday, July 31, after the Department of Health reported 8,147 additional cases.

The DOH said of the total cases, 60,887 were active.

Of these, 93.8 percent were mild, 1.3 percent asymptomatic, 2.1 percent severe, 1.3 percent critical and 1.52 percent were moderate.

Recoveries rose to 1,500,189, including the additional 9,117 ones.

The death toll is now at 27,889, including the additional 167 deaths.

The DOH has confirmed local transmission of the Delta variant in the Philippines.

On Friday, the Palace announced new classifications for some areas.

Metro Manila, it said, would revert to an enhanced community quarantine from Aug. 6 to 20.
