(Eagle News) — COVID-19 cases in the Philippines climbed to 1,572,287 after the Department of Health reported 5,739 additional cases.
The DOH said of the total cases, 56273 were active.
The department said 93.5 percent cases were mild, 1.2 percent asymptomatic, 1.4 percent critical, 2.3 percent severe, and 1.61 percent were moderate.
Recoveries rose to 1,488,437 including the additional 4,069 recoveries.
Over 100, or 176 more deaths were reported, pushing the total number of deaths to 27577.
The DOH has confirmed the local transmission of the Delta variant in the Philippines.
On Thursday, it said 97 more Delta variant cases were reported, pushing the total to 216.
