DFA reports 75 more COVID-19 recoveries among overseas Filipinos

(Eagle News)–Seventy-five more overseas Filipinos have recovered from COVID-19.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said with the additional recoveries, the recovery total rose to 7354.

Over 100, or 119, more COVID-19 cases pushed the total to 11364.

The death toll also rose to 828 with the additional 11 fatalities reported in the Middle East and Africa.

According to the DFA, the increases in the three categories were due to belated reports and “privacy concerns” in some countries in the Middle East and Africa.

The Middle East and Africa remains the region with the most COVID-19 cases, recoveries and deaths, at 7492, 4617, and 543, respectively.

The Americas have the least cases but also the least recoveries, with 816 and 489, respectively.

The Asia Pacific region has the least deaths, with nine.

The DFA has so far repatriated over 200,000 overseas Filipinos since the start of the pandemic.
