DFA reports 248 more COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad

(Eagle News) — Over 200 more COVID-19 cases have been reported among overseas Filipinos.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, the additional 248 cases pushed the total confirmed cases among Filipinos abroad to 23817.

Over 200, or 296, more recovered, pushing the total recoveries to 14129.

Seventy-four additional fatalities pushed the COVID-19 death toll among Filipinos outside the country to 1,424.

According to DFA data, the Middle East and Africa are still the regions with the most COVID-19 cases, recoveries, and deaths, reported among Filipinos overseas, at 13129, 6652, and 928, respectively.

The Americas have the least COVID-19 cases and recoveries, at 1041 and 681, respectively.

The Asia Pacific region has the least COVID-19 deaths among Filipinos abroad, at 114.

“The DFA, together with its Foreign Service Posts, continues to monitor and assist our nationals abroad amidst the pandemic,” the department said.
