
(Eagle News)–There have been no weekend reports of additional COVID-19 cases or deaths among overseas Filipinos, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday night.
The DFA said the total tally then remains at 10,181, while the death toll is at 768.
The Middle East and Africa still had the most number of COVID-19 cases, with 7,002, followed by the Asia Pacific region with 1205, Europe with 1169, and the Americas with 805.
The Middle East and Africa also had the most number of COVID-19 deaths among overseas Filipinos with 487, followed by the Americas with 178, Europe with 95, and the Asia Pacific region with eight.
The DFA said there were two additional recoveries over the weekend, bringing the total to 6433.
“In line with its ongoing repatriation efforts, the DFA remains fully committed to monitoring the situation of overseas Filipinos who are affected by the pandemic, and remains steadfast in promoting and protecting their welfare,” the DFA said.
So far, the DFA said it has repatriated over 174,000 since February.
Of this number, it said 35.46 percent were sea-based, and 64.54 percent land-based.
