DFA: 786 Filipinos repatriated from Cambodia, US, Germany, Portugal recently

(Eagle News)–The Department of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, May 28, reported repatriating over 700 overseas Filipinos as  it closed in on its third month of repatriation efforts amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The DFA said the 786 Filipinos arrived on board four different flights from the USA, Germany, Cambodia, and Portugal.

The first to arrive on Thursday were 124  Filipinos stranded in San Francisco, USA.

They were followed by 375 seafarers of AIDA Cruises from Hamburg, Germany, and then by  167 stranded Filipinos from Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The last flight brought in 120 Filipino crew members of MV Star Pride from Lisbon, Portugal.

The DFA said upon disembarkation, all repatriated Filipinos underwent the mandatory RT PCR test before proceeding to their quarantine facilities.

The new arrivals will be quarantined for 14 days.

Earlier, COVID-19 national action plan chief implementer Carlito Galvez said around 42000 Filipinos are expected to arrive in the Philippines by June.
