De Lima back in Camp Crame after visiting ailing mother in Iriga, CamSur

(Eagle News)–Senator Leila de Lima is back in Camp Crame after visiting her ailing mother in Iriga, Camarines Sur.

De Lima is detained in the Philippine National Police Custodial Center over drug-related charges in connection with her alleged role in the illegal drug trade in the New Bilibid Prison as justice secretary.

The Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branches 205 and 256 had granted De Lima’s urgent motion for a furlough for Aug. 14 and 15 so she could visit her mother Norma, who was in a critical condition.

The courts gave her only a maximum of 48 hours to visit her mother, and ordered her to be back by Aug. 16.

De Lima was also barred from granting interviews and from using communication gadgets.
