(Eagle News) — Justice Secretary Leila de Lima was a “no show” at the Department of Justice on Friday, Aug. 28, on the second day of the protest rally being held by members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo.

The number of the INC members who rallied in front of the DOJ continued to swell as they continued their peaceful assembly against what they called “unfair attention” given to a complaint against their church leaders.

Separate police estimates said the INC members rallying in the area have reached 3,000.

The whole Padre Faura Street has been blocked for the INC assembly.

Security personnel at the DOJ prevented media personnel from entering the DOJ compound.

They said there were orders not to let the members of the media go to the press office at the second floor of the building, where the DOJ secretary’s office is also located.
