(Eagle News) — Both Davao Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte and Mans Carpio on Thursday admitted to knowing Charlie Tan, a supposed player in corruption in the Bureau of Customs, but noted that they knew nothing about his supposed illegal activities.
The presidential son said Tan was his “friend” whom he knew to be a nightclub owner who was also engaged in a seafood business in Palawan and in a piggery business.
Carpio said that was also what he knew about Tan.
“I think (Tan) can best answer that question,” the younger Duterte said when asked about his friend’s activities.
“I have no knowledge (about Tan’s activities),” Carpio said.
