(Eagle News)–Daraga, Albay Mayor Carlwyn Baldo, tagged by police as the mastermind in the killing of Rep. Rodel Batocabe, was transferred back to jail from the hospital on Monday, Feb. 4.
Authorities said Baldo, who faces murder, frustrated murder and illegal possession of firearms charges, was now in the Legazpi City Jail following his stay at the UST-Legazpi Hospital for days.
Baldo was taken to the hospital after he supposedly hyperventilated following his arrest.
Apart from Baldo, six suspects face criminal charges in connection with Batocabe’s killing, which police have said was politically motivated.
Batocabe, who had announced plans to run for Daraga mayor this May, was about to board a vehicle from a gift-giving activity when he was shot.
Also killed in the incident in December last year was his police escort, SP01 Orlando Diaz.
Several people were also injured.
