Criminal charges filed vs 44 individuals over shabu hidden in magnetic lifters in Manila, Cavite

(Eagle News) — Criminal charges were filed on Thursday, Dec. 13, against 44 individuals implicated in the shabu shipment that were hidden in magnetic lifters discovered in Manila and Cavite this year.

Among those charged for conspiracy to commit illegal drug importation, trade and transportation, for  graft, obstruction of justice, among others, were former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency deputy director general for administration Ismael Gonzales Fajardo Jr., former Customs intelligence officer Jimmy Guban, Insp. Lito Pirote, former Senior Supt. Eduardo Acierto, one Joseph Dimayuga, He Zhong Consultancy Co. Inc., Red Day Machinery Parts Corporation.

The charges were filed before the Department of Justice by PDEA agents led by director general Aaron Aquino.

In August, two magnetic lifters containing shabu worth P2.4 billion were discovered at the Port of Manila.

The PDEA later discovered four magnetic lifters that looked like the ones in Manila  inside a warehouse in GMA, Cavite.

These magnetic lifters were believed to have contained P11 billion worth of shabu.
