Cops to work with TV networks, artists’ groups over Project Double Barrel Alpha

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is set to meet executives of local television networks and chairs of some artists’ group as part of Project Double Barrel Alpha, the city’s very own campaign against illegal drugs.

QCPD Director Guillermo Eleazar said that several actors have been considered as high-value targets because of their fame and influence.

Last Wednesday, PNP Director General Ronald Dela Rosa said that the police submitted  a list containing the names of 54 celebrities, among them a host of a “top-rating” television show, who are allegedly involved in narcotics use.

“Yung listahan na nai-submit [kay President Rodrigo Duterte] is 54. Ang basis nito yung celebrities na nahuli natin, yung mga celebrity suppliers na sila ‘yung pinagbebentahan. Sila yung mga customer. Nakuha natin yung mga pangalan doon at umabot sa 54,” he said.

Radio disc jockey Karen Bordador, actresses Sabrina M and Krista Miller, and two men’s magazine models were already arrested for possession of illegal drugs.

Earlier in October, actor Mark Anthony Fernandez was apprehended for alleged possession of dried marijuana.
