The Commission on Election (COMELEC) rejected the call of the group Gunless Society and Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting to implement an earlier total gun ban to stop election-related violence.
The COMELEC explained that the said gun ban can only be implemented at the start of the election period on January 10, 2016.
