Comelec: No proclamation of winning Senate, party-list bets on Sunday just yet

(Eagle News)–The proclamation of winning Senate and partylist bets will not push through on Sunday, May 19.

Commission on Elections director Frances Arabe made the announcement on Saturday, May 18.

According to Arabe, the Comelec was still waiting for certificates of canvas from 13 places and categories.

These are:

  • Lanao del Sur
  • Isabela
  • Zamboanga del Norte
  • Zamboanga del Sur
  • Washington DC
  • Japan
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Kuwait
  • Oslo
  • Abuja
  • Nairobi
  • Tehran
  • Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL)

She said they were so far looking at holding the proclamation on Tuesday or Wednesday instead.

“The intention is to have it in 1 day, but not at the same time. The proclamation for the partylist wil be in the morning, and then for the senators, it will be on the afternoon. So that is the plan,” she said.

As of Saturday, the rankings of Senate bets remained unchanged, with reelectionist Senator Cynthia Villar still leading the pack.
