QUEZON City, Philippines –  Voting 4-3, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has extended the deadline of the filing of the Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) of candidates last elections.  The deadline is now on June 30.

Candidates who have been declared winners in the May 9 elections cannot assume their post if they failed to submit their SOCE within the prescribed period.

A negative ruling from the poll body would have affected Vice President-elect Leni Robredo who belong to the Liberal Party which have failed to comply with the deadline.

Five senators, 115 House representatives, and 40 governors were also among those who failed to meet the SOCE deadline, but not all of them belong to the Liberal Party.
