(Eagle News)–The Bangsamoro Organic Law plebiscite in several towns in North Cotabato and Lanao del Norte kicked off “peacefully” on Wednesday, Feb. 6, the Commission on Elections said.

James Jimenez, Comelec spokesperson, made the statement in an interview over Radyo Inquirer, a day after blasts in Lanao del Norte.

Jimenez noted that apart from the blasts, there were no untoward incidents.

“Nagpapasalamat tayo na medyo peaceful pa rin ang proceso natin,” he said.

The plebiscite on Wednesday was so far being held in six municipalities of Lanao del Norte, Baloi, Munai, Nunungan, Pantar, Tagaloan and Tangkal, and in barangays  in Aleosan, Carmen, Cabacan, Midsayap, Pigkawayan, Tulunan, and Pikit in North Cotabato.

On Jan. 21, a plebiscite was also held in  the ARMM and Cotabato city and Isabela.

The Comelec said the BOL had been deemed ratified following the majority yes votes in the ARMM.
