Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers expected in parts of PHL today

(Eagle News)–Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected in parts of the country today as Tropical Depression “Liwayway” moves north-northwest direction.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said  Bicol Region, Visayas, Northern Mindanao and Caraga in particular will experience this, with “Liwayway” estimated at 450 kilometers east of Daet, Camarines Norte or 325 east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes.

“Liwayway” is packing  maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

It is moving at 25 kph.

Flash floods or landslides due to occasional heavy rains are possible.

Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan will also have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms with the southwest monsoon affecting the western section of Luzon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

According to PAGASA, the western section of Luzon and eastern section of Visayas and southern Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country, on the other hand, will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
