Cloudy skies with rainshowers expected over parts of N. Luzon

(Eagle News)–Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected over parts of Northern Luzon today, Sept. 14.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said these conditions will be experienced in Aurora due to the southwest monsoon.

PAGASA said apart from Luzon, the southwest monsoon is also affecting Visayas and Mindanao.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms, on the other hand, will be experienced over the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Isabela, Cagayan, Batanes, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan.

Moderate winds coming from the northeast to northwest will prevail over Northern Luzon and in Aurora Province with moderate seas, PAGASA said.

As of 3 a.m., the center of Tropical Depression “Marilyn” was estimated 1,150 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
