Cloudy skies to prevail in parts of PHL

(Eagle News)–Cloudy skies will prevail in parts of the country today, Aug. 18, as the southwest monsoon affects the western section of Northern and Central Luzon.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected over the provinces of Abra, Benguet, Apayao, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes and Babuyan group of Islands.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers, on the other hand, will be experienced over Aurora, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya and the rest of Cagayan due to localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Northern Luzon and in Aurora Province, while  coastal waters will be rough to very rough over Extreme Northern Luzon, and  moderate to rough over the rest of Northern Luzon and in the Province of Aurora.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will also be experienced over Bicol region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Northern Samar. M

to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail with moderate to rough seas, the weather bureau said.
