Cloudy skies to prevail in parts of PHL

(Eagle News)–Cloudy skies are expected in parts of the country today, Aug. 16, as the southwest monsoon affects the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected over Batanes and Babuyan group of Islands.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms will be experienced over the provinces of Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Abra, Benguet, Apayao, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Aurora, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya and the rest of Cagayan.

Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, the weather bureau said.

PAGASA said moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Northern Luzon and in Aurora Province, while  coastal waters will be rough to very rough.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the South to Southwest will prevail over Visayas, Palawan and Occidental Mindoro and its coastal waters will be slight to moderate, on the other hand, PAGASA said.
