QUEZON City, Philippines – Malacañang proudly reported that China has agreed to allow Filipino fishermen to enter Panatag Shoal in the West Philippine Sea.
According to Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella, this was due to the personal efforts of President Rodrigo R. Duterte who raised the issue after meeting with Chinese Ambassador Zhao Jianhua last Friday.
Abella, however, clarified that although China gave its permission, there is still no specific date on when this will actually take effect.
