Health Secretary Francisco Duque III was named a respondent in a new criminal case filed in connection with the Dengvaxia mess.

Apart from Duque, named respondents in the cases filed for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and for violation of the anti-torture law by Ariel Hedia of Barangay Bayanan, Muntinlupa City were former Health Secretary Janette Garin, over 30 Department of Health officials and officers of Sanofi Pasteur, the drug manufacturer; and local distributor Zuellig Pharma.

Hedia is the father of 13-year-old Abbie Hedia, who died after she was injected with Dengvaxia on November 17, 2017.

This is the fifth complaint which the Public Attorneys Office helped file against current and former Health officials, and Sanofi Pasteur and Zuellig Pharma.
