CDC officer sacked, charged for allegedly accosting, hurling invectives at Albayalde’s son

(Eagle News)—-A security officer of the Clark Development Corp. who has reportedly long been the subject of complaints by residents has been relieved and charged after he allegedly accosted the son of Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde and his police security.

Charges for violation of Article 359 of the Revised Penal Code or slander by deeds, grave coercion, unjust vexation and direct assault upon an agent or a person in authority were filed against ret. Police Col. Romeo Cachola Ver, chief of the CDC Public Security Development Office, after he allegedly hurled invectives at Kevin Albayalde, 21, and the two police aides even after the police chief’s son had been issued a ticket for a traffic violation.

The younger Albayalde had reportedly parked his car near the football field at the Clark Freeport around 9 a.m., an act Ver viewed as illegal parking.

“Nagpakita agad sila ng arrogance, sinigawan nila yung bata at sinabi nila maghintay ka darating na ang ABS-CBN. Ano ang ibig niya sabihin doon? Na-ticketan naman nila yung bata,” Albayalde told local reporters.

According to Albayalde, his son’s aides were also disarmed.

The charges against Ver were filed before the Office of Associate Provincial Prosecutor Leila Navarrete-Angulo in Mabalacat.

Ver’s deputy Robin Censon was named officer-in-charge of the CDC Public Security Development Office.

There are reports several Koreans and Chinese nationals had complained about Ver and alleged extortion activities in the area.

No official complaint, however, had been reportedly lodged.
