Ronda, Cebu police chief, others sacked

(Eagle News) –Several policemen have been relieved over the killing of Ronda, Cebu Mayor Mariano Blanco in his office in the municipal hall located only a few meters from the police station. NFA okays more rice imports for Zamboanga, Basilan, Sultan Kudarat and Tawi-Tawi

(Eagle News) — The National Food Authority has approved that immediate importation of 133,500 metric tons of rice for the provinces of Zamboanga, Basilan, Sultan Kudarat and Tawi-tawi (Zambasulta). Cebu town mayor linked to illegal drug activities shot dead

(Eagle News) — A Cebu town mayor who was linked to illegal drug activities was killed after unidentified men shot him on Wednesday, Sept. 5. Ronda Mayor Mariano Blanco III was shot dead while he was sleeping in his office after midnight. Blanco died as he was being rushed to the hospital. He was stripped off his police powers after he was linked by President Rodrigo Duterte to the illegal drug trade.

(Eagle News) — Niyanig ng magnitude 3.6 na lindol ang bayan ng Sarangani sa lalawigan ng Davao Occidental. Ayon sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), naitala ang pagyanig sa 65 kilometers south ng Sarangani, kaninang umaga bandang 6:59. PNP: Communist groups may be behind explosions in Masbate, Sultan Kudarat

(Eagle News) — The Philippine National Police is looking at the possibility Communist groups were behind the recent explosions in Sultan Kudarat and in Masbate. Blast rocks Masbate port; several boats damaged

(Eagle News)—–Several boats sustained damages after a blast ripped through Masbate  early Sunday. The explosion took place near a  Philippine Coast Guard station in Masbate Port at 12:30 a.m. Two aluminum boats were damaged and  a newly procured rescue boat from the Philippine Army was destroyed, the PCG said. An investigation  is ongoing.
