President Aquino Leaves for a Two Day State Visit in Malaysia

President Noynoy Aquino leaves for Malaysia for a two-day state visit, where he will meet the Malaysia’s King Abdul Halim and Prime Minister Najib Razak. Highlight of the visit is the pushing through of the peace process with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, wherein Malaysia serves as third party facilitator.

Meralco Cannot Collect Additional Rates

Manila Electric Company or Meralco clarified that it cannot collect the additional sum reflected in the February bills of some of its customers due to the injunction issued by the Supreme Court. Meralco customers are also not required to pay the additional sum.

Earthquake Hits Batangas

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, a magnitude 4.5 earthquake hit the southeastern part of Calatagan, Batangas. Meanwhile, intensity earthquakes hit the islands of Looc and Lubang, Occidental Mindoro. No injuries were recorded.
