Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over M. Manila, other areas

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over Metro Manila and other areas. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Quezon as well. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.

MRT-3: Teachers can avail of free train rides on Saturday, Oct. 5

(Eagle News)–The Metro Rail Transit-3 is offering free train rides to teachers on Saturday, Oct. 5. In a statement, the MRT-3 said they can avail of the free rides from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. They only need to present their Professional Regulatory Commission  license or their faculty identification card to avail of the same. The free rides are in celebration of National Teachers’ Day.

Alleged sub-leader of Abu Sayyaf group nabbed in QC

(Eagle News)–An alleged sub-leader of the Abu Sayyaf group was arrested in Quezon City recently. The suspect was identified as Ibrahim Lambog Mullo. Mullo was arrested along Commonwealth Avenue following a tip from a concerned citizen. Seized from him were an unlicensed caliber .45 pistol and a fragmentation grenade. Criminal charges will be filed against him.
