Former ambassador Rodolfo Severino Jr. passes away

(Eagle News)–Former ambassador Rodolfo Severino Jr. has passed away. The Department of Foreign Affairs made the confirmation in a statement. Severino was 82 years old. Severino, the father of news personality Howie Severino, served as Asean secretary-general from 1998 to 2002, only the second Filipino to have gotten the post. At least 50 houses gutted by fire in QC

(Eagle News)–Around 50 houses were gutted by a fire that hit a residential area in Quezon City on Saturday, April 20. Authorities said the blaze struck Barangay Apolonio Samson around 5 a.m. The fire reached the fourth alarm. It was put out at 7:39 a.m. There were no reported casualties.

(Eagle News)–At least 14 people, mostly children, have been rushed to the hospital after they reportedly inhaled an excessive amount of chlorine while swimming in a pool in Pandi, Bulacan on Friday, April 19. JUST IN: 3.5-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental on Friday, April 19. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 20 kilometers southwest of Governor Generoso at 3:08 p.m. The quake, which was of tectonic origin, had a depth of focus of 158 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

The project, which once completed will cut short to  40 minutes the commute from Antipolo, Rizal to Recto, Manila, has entered its final phase.
