Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over M. Manila, other areas

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over Metro Manila and other areas. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are also expected over Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Rizal, Zambales, Batangas, Laguna, Pampanga and Tarlac within the next two hours. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flashfloods and landslides,” PAGASA said.

Heavy rainfall warning hoisted over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News)–A heavy rainfall warning has been hoisted over parts of Mindanao. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said an orange warning, which means flooding is threatening in these areas, is up over Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga City, Basilan and Sulu. A yellow warning, on the other hand, has been hoisted over Zamboanga del Sur and Tawi Tawi. This means flooding is possible in low-lying areas and near river river channels. […]

3.0-magnitude quake hits S. Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Southern Leyte on Friday, Sept. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 7 kilometers southwest of Hinunangan at 6 a.m. Depth of focus was 11 kilometers.
