4.4-magnitude quake hits N. Samar

(Eagle News)–A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck Northern Samar on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit two kilometers southeast of Lope de Vega at 7:37 a.m. Depth of focus was 90 kilometers. The following intensities were recorded: Intensity III – Lope de Vega, Catarman and Mondragon, Northern Samar Intensity II – San Roque and Pambujan, Northern Samar No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over M. Manila, other areas

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over Metro Manila  and other areas. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with possible lightning and strong winds are also expected over Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan within the next one to two hours.
