(Eagle News) — The Commission on Elections has approved the substitute nominees of Duterte Youth.
The Comelec en banc’s approval of Ducielle Cardema, Guillermo Villarreal, Jr., Krizza Reyes and Robert Garcia as nominees could soon pave the way for the proclamation of the party-list as a winner in the May elections.
Cardema is the wife of former National Youth Commission chair Ronald Cardema, who was the first to be nominated for the post.
But petitions were filed assailing Ronald Cardema’s nomination on the grounds he was overage.
The Comelec suspended proclaiming the partylist as a winner in the elections pending resolution of the petitions.
The Comelec ended up disqualifying him, a decision Ronald Cardema publicly decried.
Cardema, however, withdrew his nomination on September 16, several days after the Comelec en banc approved the substitute nominees that included his wife.
