Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal under COVID-19 alert level 3 from Jan. 5 to 15

(Eagle News) — Bulacan, Cavite and Rizal are now under a COVID-19 alert level 3 amid the steep increase in COVID-19 cases, the Palace said on Tuesday, Jan. 4.

According to acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles, the alert level shall take effect from January 5 to 15, 2022.

Under an alert Level 3, some establishments are allowed to operate at a 30% indoor venue capacity but only for fully vaccinated individuals.

A 50% outdoor venue capacity is allowed.

The employees of such establishments, however, should be fully vaccinated.

Gatherings of people who are not from the same household are not allowed.

Metro Manila is also under an alert level 3 until Jan. 15.

The OCTA research group has said Metro Manila was now at a “high risk” for COVID-19.

The Department of Health earlier warned of an “exponential” increase in COVID-19 cases following the “continued decreased adherence” to minimum public health safety protocols and the detection of three local Omicron variant cases.

The Philippines has so far detected 14 cases of the highly transmissible variant.
