(Eagle News)–Bureau of Corrections Officer 3 Veronica Buño on Thursday, Sept. 19, admitted she messaged the partner of a New Bilibid Prison inmate who paid P50,000 for the release of her loved one under the Good Conduct Time Allowance law.

Buño, who was among those tagged in the GCTA-for-sale scheme, made the admission under questioning by Senator Richard Gordon.

Buño initially denied any exchange even after  National Bureau of Investigation director Dante Gierran said that based on the agency’s probe, she and Yolanda Camilon exchanged messages on February 21.

Camilon earlier said Buño followed up on the money she was supposed to pay to Roque.

But Gordon pressed Buño.

“Nag-message ako sa kaniya,” she admitted, even as she denied knowing Camilon personally.

Earlier, Camilon said BuCor officials Ramoncito Roque and Mabel Bansil received her payment of P50,000 for the release of her partner.
