BSP releases bank notes with President Duterte’s signature

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas released Php 8.25 billion worth or a total of 27 million pieces of new bank notes featuring President Rodrigo Duterte’s signature.

The BSP released 100 boxes containing Php 20, Php 50, Php 100, Php 500 and Php 1000 bills. Each denomination has five million pieces released in the National Capital Region, the rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Under Section 53 of Republic Act No. 7653 or The New Central Bank Act, said banknotes “shall bear the signatures, in facsimile, of the President of the Philippines and of the Governor of the Bangko Sentral.”
