Bongbong Marcos files urgent motion for PET to set electoral protest vs Robredo for preliminary conference

(Eagle News)–Former Senator Bongbong Marcos has asked the Presidential Electoral Tribunal to immediately set his electoral protest against Vice President Leni Robredo for preliminary conference.

In filing the extremely urgent motion, Marcos’ camp noted that the PET already completed revision proceedings for the pilot provinces of Camarines Sur, Iloilo and Negros Oriental on Feb. 8.

With the termination of the proceedings, Marcos’ camp said the revision reports on the same have also been submitted.

“It is imperative that his  claim be immediately cleared out not only for the benefit of the winner but for the sake of public interest,  which can only be achieved by brushing aside technicalities of procedure which protract and delay the trial of an action,” he said.

Leni Robredo was declared the winner of the 2016 vice presidential race after garnering at least 200,000 more votes than Marcos.
