In a statement, the BI said the summary deportation order of  Chan Chit Yue,  Kin San Ho, Ching Che and Wu Hing Sum was  signed and approved by the Board of Commissioners on August 23.

The BI said the four would be deported as soon as possible,  “as soon (as) relevant documents are complied with.”

“BI exercises its ministerial function to deport foreign nationals who completed the service of sentence in Philippine prison,” the BI said, without saying if their sentences had been reduced under Republic Act 10592, which increases the Good Conduct Time Allowances given to inmates.

Earlier, Lacson said it was  possible money was behind the release of some convicts.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra refrained from commenting on Lacson’s remark, saying he would do so once the facts have been established.

The Palace has already clarified that RA 10592 does not include in its coverage those convicted of heinous crimes, recidivists, habitual delinquents and escapees.
