(Eagle News)– Ben Tulfo slammed Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Bautista, who had laid down conditions before accepting the apology of Ben’s brother Erwin.
“Ayon sa kumag na OIC, mag-sorry daw sa lahat ng media outlet,” Ben said in a Tweet, referring to Bautista’s demand Erwin publish an at least half-a-page apology in all leading newspapers and in select radio stations for the radio broadcaster’s on-air tirades against the secretary when he failed to grant a live interview.
“‘BUTAW’ na P300k kinakailangan para mahugasan ang kasalanan,” Ben added, in reference to the at least P300,000-donation Bautista had ordered Erwin to make to each of 19 organizations, instead of paying him for maligning his reputation.
“Nagpapatawa ka ba?” Ben asked.
In his radio program, Erwin had slammed Bautista after the Department of Social Welfare Development he heads asked the radio program to send a formal request for the same first.
“Sino ba itong buang na ito? Pasensiya na muna ano ha. Maski tao ka ni Pangulong Duterte, le-lecture-an muna kita,” Erwin had said.
He also threatened to slap Bautista, and to even dunk his head inside a toilet bowl.
His tirades earned the ire of the military, with some launching a Change.org petition to demand for his apology.
Erwin has since apologized, acknowledging he needed to tone down his way of commentary.
Bautista served as ground commander during the Marawi siege in 2017.
