Bangsamoro asks gov’t and Maute Group to stop involving civilians in their ongoing fight

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Bangsamoro Transition Commissioner for Women Samira Gotuc-Tomawis pleaded to the government and the Maute Group to refrain from involving civilians in the continuing fight between the two forces.

The fight between the Maute Group and the government has affected over a million residents of Lanao del Norte, mainly because it contributed to the rise in the prices of basic goods including rice.
