At least one dead, two hurt in Navotas fire

(Eagle News)–At least one person died while two others were hurt after a fire hit a residential area in Navotas on Friday, Oct. 18.

Authorities identified the fatality in the fire that broke out in Barangay NBBN at 2:30 a.m. as James Bantasan, 24.

The Bureau of Fire Protection has yet to determine the cause of the fire, but residents said they heard small explosions beforehand, while others said the blaze was deliberately started.

The fire quickly spread to affect around 200 houses, causing damage to property worth P1 million.

The blaze, which reached the fifth alarm and affected around 400 families, was put out at 6:11 a.m. With a report from Earlo Bringas
