Around 16,000 cops to be deployed in M. Manila for May 13 polls

(Eagle News)–Around 16,000 policemen will be deployed in Metro Manila to secure the May 13 polls.

In a statement, National Capital Region Police Office director Guillermo Eleazar said more are also on standby for any eventualities.

“The highest level of readiness is expected in all police offices and units,” he said.

He said he has  “guided all NCRPO police officers to act in accordance with their mandate and conscience – to be above political affairs, to be fair, judicious and determined to uphold the integrity of the elections.”

“Safety and security is everybody’s concern,” he said.

“We can assure the success of this 2019 Midterm elections through the cooperation of the public,” Eleazar added.
