Año to PNP: Go after vandals

(Eagle News)–Interior Secretary Eduardo Año has ordered the police to go after  people who vandalize government properties.

Año made the statement as he lauded the arrest of four members of Panday Sining, who had spray-painted messages against the government in posts in the Light Rail Transit in Recto during a protest on Bonifacio Day, Nov. 30.

Earlier, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno expressed frustration after a wall at the Lagusnilad underpass was vandalized even after it was cleaned by the local government days before.

“Nagsusumikap ang gobyerno na magkaroon ng kaayusan at kalinisan pero binababoy nila. They have been repeatedly warned and now they will face the consequences of their actions,” Año said.

He said that while they were not prevented from airing their grievances, “huwag ninyo namang gawing malaking drawing board o canvas ang Metro Manila.”

“Maraming paraan para ipahayag ang inyong saloobin at hindi kasama doon ang walang habas ninyong pagpipinta sa mga pader ng Maynila,” he said.
