(Eagle News)–The Department of the Interior and Local Government urged local governments to ensure a smooth transition of power following the 2019 elections.
In a statement, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said “now is the time to rise above party politics and interests..”
“The Filipino people have spoken and now is the time to move on,” Año said.
According to Año, “a greater agenda awaits and that is the task of nation-building.”
“Kaya magkaisa na tayong lahat at magtulong-tulong para sa kapakanan ng ating mga lokalidad,” Año said.
Many of the winners in local elections have been proclaimed three days after the polls.
