Amid transport strike, DOTr says PNR making more trips on Monday, March 6

(Eagle News) — The Philippine National Railways is making more trips on Monday, March 6, to accommodate commuters who may be affected on the first day of the transport strike.

Undersecretary for Railways Cesar B. Chavez said the railway line will have 14 more, increasing its total to 60 from 46.

“It will also add one trip from Tutuban Station and extend its trip departing at 8:46 p.m. from 7:46 p.m.,” he added.

Meanwhile, he said the Metro Rail Transit-3 was ready to extend its running hours for the last trip from North Avenue Station to 10:00 p.m. and from Taft Avenue Station to 10:41 p.m. when necessary.

Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) Spokesperson Jacqueline Gorospe told the DOTr that the LRMC was also prepared to ensure service and manpower availability for LRT-1.

The LRT-2’s regular trip from Recto Station is until 9:30 p.m.

If running hours are extended, the last trip will be until 10:00 p.m., the DOTr said.
