Albayalde sacks 2 policemen for moonlighting as drivers of colorum vehicles with Office of the President stickers on them

(Eagle News)—Philippine National Police chief Oscar Albayalde has sacked two policemen after they were allegedly found to be moonlighting as drivers for colorum vehicles that bore stickers of the Office of the President.

Sacked were Chief Insp. Juan Saldua Cipriano Jr., of the Southern Police District; and SP04 Ronnie Arimbuyutan Druja of the PNP Aviation Security Group.

The two were allegedly caught driving the unmarked vehicles to ferry passengers by the Inter-Agency Council for Traffic and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.

They are now at the Police Holding and Accounting Unit and will be probed by the Counter Intelligence Task Force, Albayalde said.

“Magsilbi sana itong babala sa iba pang (mga pulis),” he added, as he thanked  transportation authorities for “not dismissing” the policemen’s “wrongdoings.”

Albayalde has said he valued discipline in the police force, and would be focused on cleansing the PNP of police scalawags.
