(Eagle News)– The Armed Forces of the Philippines on Tuesday (AFP) said it has tracked Maute reinforcements attempting to enter Marawi City.
1st Infantry Battalion spokesperson Lt. Col. Jo-Ar Herrera said that the military was, however, making more headway in the fight against the local terrorists.
On Tuesday, the military recovered around P79 million worth of cash and a check from a house they said was used as a hideout by Maute snipers in the city.
The money was believed to be funding the terrorists’ illegal activities.
In a press conference, Herrera also revealed military resources had been bombed in Barangay Pugaan in Ditsaan-Ramain town on Sunday night.
According to the military, the barangay was also the subject of an operation.
The barangay is located 22 kilometers away from Marawi.
No one was reported injured nor killed in the explosion.
