California senator charged with corruption and gun smuggling

A senator in California was arrested for gun smuggling for his activities the United States and the Philippines.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Democratic State Senator Leland Yee.  He was also charged with corruption and conspiring to import and traffic firearms.

Prosecutors criminally charged Yee, a child psychologist, in federal court in San Francisco on Wednesday (March 26) with two felony counts of conspiring to import and traffic in firearms and six corruption counts. He was released on $500,000 bond.
