Foreigners with long-term PHL visas to be allowed entry into country starting Aug. 1

(Eagle News) — Foreigners with long-term visas will be allowed entry into the country starting Aug. 1.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Friday, July 17, said, however, that this was subject to certain conditions.

They should have valid and existing visas at the time of the entry, not new visas, and should have pre-booked an accredited quarantine facility and a COVID-19 testing provider.

“They are likewise subject to the maximum capacity of inbound passengers at the port and date of entry, as returning overseas Filipinos will be given priority,” Roque said.

The new policy comes more than a week after the government allowed non-essential foreign travel for Filipinos but subject to specific conditions.

Before the policy on the entry of foreigners was approved, only Filipinos and their spouses and children were allowed to enter the country.

Diplomatic passport holders were also allowed to enter, as well as members of international organizations, among others.
